DebateChamps is a debate and public-speaking organisation committed to developing confident communicators, critical thinkers and future leaders. We provide structured training, competition preparation and opportunities for young people to compete and connect on national and international platforms.
In 2026, we organised the inaugural Lagos Schools Debate Competition in collaboration with the Harvard Debate Council, bringing together 120 students from more than 20 schools across Lagos. As we continue to grow, our focus remains on building a stronger culture of debate in Nigeria and creating pathways for talented young people to compete and thrive on national and international stages.
Behind DebateChamps is a diverse team of debate coaches, adjudicators, education professionals, administrators and operations staff working together to create meaningful learning experiences for young people.
Our team brings together expertise in debate, public speaking, education, coaching, competition, programme management, administration and operations. Together, we deliver high-quality training, support student development, build strong relationships with schools and families, and coordinate the programmes, competitions and initiatives that make up the DebateChamps experience.
Each member of our team plays an important role in delivering thoughtful, well-organised and impactful experiences for our students and partners.

In 2026, DebateChamps organised the inaugural Lagos Schools Debate Competition (LSDC), in collaboration with the Harvard Debate Council, bringing together 120 students from 20+ schools for a high-level debate experience.
We were honoured to welcome Ed Williams, a delegate from the Harvard Debate Council, whose presence strengthened the international dimension of the competition and highlighted DebateChamps' growing connections within the global debate community.
The event was attended by government commissioners and senior education stakeholders, demonstrating the growing recognition of debate as an important tool for youth development and education.
The competition marked an important milestone in our mission to build a stronger culture of debate, critical thinking and public speaking among young people in Nigeria.
